Hunger Pangs by keelywolfe (Mature | John Watson/Martin Crieff)

It’d been years since Martin had been that desperate, desperate enough to consider just what he would do to get a bit of money. Set after ‘The Reichenbach Fall’.

    Mother.

    Of.

    God.

Let me preface this by saying that even if you aren’t a big fan of the Cabin Pressure fandom, do yourself a favor and check this one out. Once again, keelywolfe outdoes herself (and it’s with a pairing I would never normally consider reading) and she’s left me quite literally in pain for more. Never before have I had stronger conflicting feelings of arousal and complete and utter devastation for a character; and brought upon in less than 4,000 words, no less. Her characterization is so good it hurts, and if you’re a fan of angsty fics, you’re in for a very lovely trip.

    In short: READ THIS.

I Don’t Know What More to Ask For by halotolerant (Mature)

    Imagine having John Watson.

Before this present time, there were a very great number of years when he did not have John Watson.

And now that, once more, he does not have John Watson the situation has arguably only returned – after six hundred and two days of abnormality – to a resting state.

It should be exactly the same as before.

But it is not the same.

Lossemerges to be tangibly different from never-having-possessed, even though logically the reasons for this are scarce.

Humanity, perhaps, makes the margin of error, as so often.

In which Sherlock realizes just how much John means to him and how the hell is he going to make it without him? Chock full of angst and not necessarily a happy ending, but a wonderful story nonetheless.

“He’s also wearing glasses. Thin, horn-rimmed glasses. Somehow, that little, insignificant detail hits Sherlock like a sledgehammer. Sherlock has never seen these glasses before. He’s been observing John’s deteriorating eyesight since the moment they met, but he’d estimated that it would take at least two more years for it to become so bad that John would stoop to actually seeing an ophthalmologist. But apparently, sometime during the year Sherlock was gone, John’s eyesight deteriorated enough for him to get glasses. Of course Sherlock immediately wants to pluck them from John’s nose and examine them in detail, and a whole catalogue of questions develops in Sherlock’s brain. How strong are they? Does he have contacts? Does he need them to read? To work? To drive?”

The Everthere by hbomb90 (Explicit | ~25,000 words)

    John doesn’t like Daniel Vaughn.

Perhaps it’s because he’s very definitely a ‘Daniel’ and never a ‘Dan’. Perhaps it’s because he is privately educated and went to Cambridge and got a double first and isn’t the least bit show- offy about it. Perhaps it’s because he’s a human rights lawyer and is therefore extremely clever but not the requisite level of bastard that the word ‘lawyer’ usually implies. Perhaps because he’s a full six inches taller than John. And has the kind of naturally thick, auburn hair that is usually on achieved with extremely fancy dye and a high powered hair dryer. Perhaps it’s shoes (bespoke Italian leather) or his eyes (melting pools of dark chocolate).

Most likely, though, it’s because when Sherlock looks at Daniel Tall Ginger Human Rights Lawyer with A House In Kensington, he blushes.

Quite possibly one of the most angst-heavy fics I’ve read as of late. The prompt asked for a pining-to-the-point-of-PAIN John and a besotted Sherlock—and the author most definitely delivers—which doesn’t necessarily make this an AU, but Sherlock is definitely more than a little bit out of character.

That being said, it’s still one of the most painful pieces I’ve (willingly) suffered through and it had me pulling at my hair on 4+ occasions (and one occasion that actually made me cry). It’s technically unfinished, but what we’re left with could very well be a suitable ending, so I hope you’ll give it a chance.

Marcella, Unstarched by arcsupport (Teen and Up | ~2,200 words)

Sherlock’s bare arms are braced on either side of him, so close that John can feel the heat from his skin. Any moment now. Any moment. Something terrible is going to happen.

Gratuitous arm porn, a nod to one of my favorite bands, and a bit of DIY gone super-sexy. Can’t really ask for much more, can you?

  • Unrealistic as it was, John liked the idea of being Sherlock’s first; he’s not sure how he feels about being Sherlock’s four hundred and twenty-first. Or possibly five hundredth, since Sherlock apparently didn’t bother keeping count while sleeping with half of London. “Twelve, twenty, even thirty people is a pretty average number. Once you hit the hundreds, you’ve become the whore of Babylon.”

John says it before he really thinks it through - calling someone a whore is probably the fastest way to make sure they’ll never sleep with you again - but Sherlock’s wearing that surprised, pleased expression that means he’s flattered.

“You know, most people wouldn’t take it as a compliment.”

“You wouldn’t have said it if you thought I’d honestly be offended,” Sherlock says and John chooses to believe that’s true. Even if he knows it really isn’t. “Most scholars believe the whore of Babylon was a coded reference to Rome, a bustling, metropolitan city of the time. If you compared me to London, I’d take it as a compliment. This is the same thing.”

It’s really not, John thinks but he doesn’t have the heart, or the cruelty, to say it.

Everyone Has One by roquentine (Explicit)

John supposes that no sight should surprise him upon entering their flat anymore, but this one does.

Sherlock is flounced lazily on the sofa, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

That’s not surprising. What’s surprising is what he’s doing. Which is running a knife, a gorgeous, gleaming knife, up and down the inside of his forearm, back and forth, like he’s absent-mindedly spreading butter on his own arm.

Warning for a teeny, tiny bit of blood, but mostly just 2,000 words of Sherlock cutting John’s clothing off in a mindblowingly hot manner. Have a bucket of cold water at the ready.

Pull the Stars from the Sky by roane (Explicit)

It’s the fall of 2000, and to help him out after his military career has ended due to injury, John Watson’s sister Harriet gets him a job as US tour manager for rising star of the industrial scene and enfant terrible, Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock’s not long out of rehab and there are plenty of doubts as to whether he’s serious about recovery. Plus, the music industry is shaking in its boots over the Napster mess. All John has to do is keep the money coming in and make sure his star doesn’t screw things up. After the army, that should be easy, right?

A promising new WIP with a refreshingly novel concept. Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

  • Hello! I was led to believe that you would rec some pretty good Sherlock/John stuff, so here I am with a request. Do you know of any stories that involve some Rated R Skype sessions? Please and thank you :)
    Anonymous

Oh, anon, you have made my night. I hardly EVER get asked about recs despite how much time I’ve spent reading nothing but porn so this is a treat. Skype porn, you say?

    • Dublin by Lotherington. SUPER-HOT with a bit of John being a damn sexy dom (might have to squint but it’s certainly there)
    • Illusion is the First of All Pleasures by lbmisscharlie. I think this was actually the first Skype-y porn I’ve read and it’s still probably my favorite. Again, more of John being all dommy, which just…yes.
    • Diaphanous by Mazarin221b. Maz is honestly one of my favorite writers and her talent just BLEEDS through with every word she writes. Inspired by the snippets we were shown of S2 with The Sheet and just….damn.

And lastly, it’s not Skype porn per se, but it’s kinda in the same realm.

    • facettes de la petite mort Really, REALLY hot story about Sherlock leaving John a little surprise on a website he knows he frequents. Definitely worth a read.

I hope these were kinda what you were looking for and please, don’t be a stranger. /creepysmile

Because I Never Wondered by Mazarin221b set to Franz Ferdinand’s “No You Girls”

    ——————————————————-

‘John catches Sherlock dancing. In his underpants.”

I wonder how many times I’ll rec this tiny, fluffy gem? It’s honestly one of my favorite shorter stories and always leaves me with an idiotic grin on my face. And as always, this is me blathering on about how much I love Maz’s writing and how you all should set aside time to read everything she’s published. Go on.

  • SUPER PORN SATURDAY

A teen!Sherlock/John story that I thought was abandoned was updated today.

If you haven’t started it yet, may I suggest you do so? The Poem.

Also, you guys remember that disgustingly hot piece of fanart that was making the rounds a while ago? (THIS ONE) Well, you might wanna check out Mazarin221b’s latest because the level of hotness actually broke my brain last night. In So Many Words. And while you’re there, just read every single thing she’s ever written. I promise you you won’t regret it.
